The University Avenue side of the first floor atrium includes a Mesozoic garden view space with trees that create a natural ambience. The area is commonly used for banquets, receptions, poster presentations or small gatherings This area is in an open space but can be stanchioned off and designated for your event with event signage.

With 40,000 square feet available, the main floor of the Discovery Building can accommodate up to 1,200 people. The first floor of the building is a central space where campus, community and industry gather to celebrate idea sharing through conferences, poster sessions, banquets, receptions, lectures & more. The Discovery Building is also home to twin research institutes, the private Morgridge Institute for Research and the public Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID). Their private-public collaboration helps facilitate breakthrough discoveries to advance health and well-being.
